How to use this workflow
Choose a recording
Select a local audio file your browser can decode. This tool accepts mono or stereo audio up to 250 MB; long decoded recordings may still exceed available memory.
Set pitch and speed
Use the pitch control from −12 to +12 semitones. Keep speed at 100% to change pitch without intentionally changing the tempo. Speed has its own 50–150% control.
Listen, generate and download
Preview a phrase with both vocals and instruments. Select Prepare export, then download WAV or MP3. Changing a setting clears the previous generated result, so generate again before downloading.
What the semitone control changes
A semitone is one step between adjacent notes in the twelve-note chromatic scale. +2 moves C to D; −2 moves C to B♭. +12 is one octave higher and −12 is one octave lower. Every part of the mixed recording moves together, including the voice and instruments.
Start with a small change such as −1 or −2 for singing practice. Pitch shifting can change the character of a voice and soften transients, especially at large intervals. There is no separate formant control or automatic correction of individual sung notes.
Using the key and BPM estimates
Analysis begins on the first preview. The tool displays estimated original and shifted values when analysis finds a usable result. An unknown or ambiguous result is possible; it does not prevent manual pitch adjustment.
The key display is guidance, not a target-key selector. If you already know the original and desired keys, calculate the semitone difference and set the slider yourself. The tool processes recordings, not MIDI notes or written scores.
Make a nightcore-style version
For independent control, try a modest positive pitch shift and a speed above 100%, then adjust by ear. These are starting suggestions, not a built-in preset on this page. A separate Nightcore preset is available in Slowed + Reverb; that tool links pitch to playback rate.
Keep the original file and compare the same passage. Faster is not automatically better: consonants, cymbals and bass can become less clear. Export only after the preview suits the intended use.
Common questions
Can I change pitch without changing speed?
Yes. Leave speed at 100% and adjust semitones. The processing separates the two controls, although pitch-shifting artifacts can still be audible.
Does this work on a live microphone or a song URL?
This page works on a local audio file. It does not shift a live microphone or import music from streaming-service URLs.
