How to use this workflow
Choose a tempo
Set BPM between 40 and 240. BPM counts clicks per minute in this tool; at 60 BPM, clicks are one second apart.
Choose the accent cycle and sound
Select a cycle of 2, 3, 4 or 6 beats. Choose Click, Wood, Beep or Cowbell and adjust volume to a comfortable level.
Start and practice
Start playback and follow the visual beat indicator. Keep the page in the foreground: the metronome pauses when the page goes into the background.
A simple practice sequence
Choose a short passage and start below your target tempo. Play it several times while keeping entrances and note lengths consistent. Increase the setting by a small amount only when the passage remains controlled.
If mistakes repeat at the same place, slow down and isolate that transition. A suggested routine is not a measured guarantee of improvement; adapt it to the piece, instrument and your current level.
Beat grouping and time signatures
The selector changes how often an accented click returns. It does not provide a full time-signature editor or a separate subdivision control. A six-click cycle can help count six equal pulses, but it does not decide how a written 6/8 passage should be felt or grouped.
The click scheduler uses the browser’s audio clock. Device output latency and wireless headphones can still affect what you hear relative to an instrument or another source. This is a practice tool, not an external hardware synchronization clock.
Common questions
Can I download the click track?
This page plays the metronome in the browser. It does not currently offer a click-track audio export.
Why did it stop when I changed tabs?
Backgrounding pauses the metronome intentionally. Return to the page and start it again when you are ready.
