How to use this workflow
Load and select the range
Choose a supported local file. Drag the selection handles or enter start and end times in milliseconds. Keep the end after the start.
Set fades if needed
Adjust fade-in and fade-out independently. Choose Linear, Exponential or S-Curve and listen to the first and last sounds in the selection.
Generate and check the WAV
Generate the trim and preview the selected result. Download WAV. Changes to the range or fades require a fresh result before downloading.
Choose clean boundaries
Leave enough room before a consonant or instrument attack so the clip does not sound cut off. At the end, allow the note or room sound to decay unless an abrupt stop is intentional.
Millisecond inputs help repeat a selection more precisely than a rough drag. A short fade can soften a discontinuity at an edit, but an excessively long fade can hide the first word or last note. The selection must remain within the loaded audio.
When to use the audio cutter instead
The trimmer keeps a single interval. To remove a mistake in the middle, join separate passages or change their order, use the audio cutter. Both pages currently generate WAV rather than directly exporting an edited MP3.
You can load a browser-decodable MP3, trim it, save WAV and then convert that result to MP3 if required. Keeping the WAV between editing steps avoids adding a lossy encode at every intermediate stage.
Common questions
Does selecting a range overwrite my original file?
No. The tool works from the loaded recording and creates a separate downloadable result. Keep the original for later revisions.
Can I remove several sections in one pass?
Use the audio cutter for split, delete and reorder operations. This page is designed for one continuous range.
