How to use this workflow
Check the splitter requirements
Open Stem Splitter in a WebGPU-capable browser. Choose a supported recording within the six-minute and 250 MB limits, then start separation. The model loads as part of this process; resource checks can be stricter.
Separate and audition the accompaniment
After separation, mute Drums and listen to Bass, Music and Vocals together. Check whether important entrances and musical cues remain clear.
Choose the Drumless export
Download the named Drumless WAV mix. Check the exported file itself rather than assuming that every temporary mute or solo setting defines the named export.
What the drumless mix contains
The preset combines Bass + Music + Vocals. It does not subtract an original studio drum bus from the master, and it is not a perfect reconstruction of the unmastered backing tracks.
Cymbals, percussion reverbs or drum attacks may remain in the other stems. Conversely, material assigned to Drums may be absent from the accompaniment even if it belonged to another instrument. Listen through exposed sections and transitions before using the mix.
Keep enough timing information for practice
Learn the original arrangement before removing its main rhythmic reference. Use the bass line, phrase changes and vocal entrances to keep your place. A metronome can help with a steady-tempo track, but an old or live performance may drift against a fixed click.
If the track is too fast, use the independent speed control to create a slower practice file. The metronome is played separately; the splitter does not bake a synchronized click into the drumless export.
Save the files you may need later
Keep the Drumless WAV and, if useful, the separate Drums WAV for studying fills. The splitter’s named mixes have their own export behavior; test the exact file you intend to rehearse with.
Model processing happens locally and consumes browser resources. Save completed outputs before leaving the page. A successful short excerpt does not guarantee an arbitrarily long file will fit on the same device.
Common questions
Can I remove bass instead of drums?
The splitter also has a Bassless export, combining the other three categories. Choose the named output that matches the instrument you want to practice.
Does the drumless file include an added count-in?
No. The named mix combines the non-drum stems. It does not automatically add a count-in, click track or arrangement markers.
